Thursdays are kind of like Tuesdays around here... You might also find one of our special small group studies meeting on this night. Here are a few to give you an idea:

"Connecting With Our Children"

We've been privileged to present this important material to our members and our community. Based on Bowen Family Systems theory and the book by the same name written by Roberta Gilbert, Pastor Chavez helps parents make healthy connections with each other, their children and their families of origin.

"Making Peace With Your Past"

One of our first "covenant" groups, "This support-group study offers practical, biblically based guidance to lead adults to identify, understand, and come to terms with the feelings and problems of growing up in a dysfunctional family. This course will help adults who grew up in a home in which one of the family members had emotional needs so strong that they disrupted the development of healthy relationships. Participants will understand problems from the past and identify and remove emotional, psychological, and spiritual barriers to fellowship with God." "Experiencing God"

Another covenant group, "Experiencing God, by Henry Blackaby and Claude King, challenges Christians to experience the fullness of a life lived in fellowship with a loving, personal God." Check-out the book at LifeWay Christian Resources.

Mentoring Relationships

Thursday or any other time that works well is a good time for a mentoring relationship... As "iron sharpens iron," this important ministry at Burtonsville Baptist Church places two believers in a six-month to one year mentoring relationship, where both grow together in their walk and relationship with God.

In these and all of our growth and learning opportunities, we strive to stay true to our Purpose, "To introduce Jesus to those who don't know Him and to mature those who have trusted Him as Savior and Lord!" Watch for these and other opportunities to grow closer to our Savior.
